Recently I’ve been toying with what colors does a song invoke when we hear it? What patterns come into our brain when a song comes on? What colors/patterns/décor was happening at the time of a song’s release? So many ways to think about how music, color, pattern and design come together for a three to four minute song. Let’s see what I come up with as an example.

I’m going to start with Paul Simon’s “Kodochrome” 1973. Not only does this song speak in colors, it evokes specific colors that Kodachrome cameras produced at the time of their invention. Here are the colors and images mentioned directly in the song:
